Data Deletion Instructions

You have full control over your data. This page explains how to request deletion of your data from smdrDM and what happens during the process.

Important Notice

Data deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Your automations will stop working, and you will lose access to all analytics and message templates.

How to Request Data Deletion

1Option 1: Delete from Your Dashboard (Fastest)

  1. 1. Log in to your smdrDM account
  2. 2. Navigate to Settings → Account Settings
  3. 3. Scroll to the bottom and click "Delete Account"
  4. 4. Confirm deletion by entering your password
  5. 5. Click "Permanently Delete My Account and Data"

✅ Your data will be deleted within 48 hours.

2Option 2: Email Us Directly

If you no longer have access to your account or prefer email:

  1. 1. Send an email to: privacy@smdrdm.com
  2. 2. Use the subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
  3. 3. Include the following information:
    • • Your registered email address
    • • Instagram username (if connected)
    • • Reason for deletion (optional)

✅ We will respond within 7 business days and complete deletion within 30 days.

3Option 3: Revoke Access via Instagram

You can also disconnect smdrDM directly from Instagram:

  1. 1. Open the Instagram app
  2. 2. Go to Settings → Security → Apps and Websites
  3. 3. Find "smdrDM" in the list
  4. 4. Tap "Remove"

⚠️ This revokes our access to your Instagram data, but does not delete your smdrDM account data. For full deletion, use Option 1 or 2.

What Data Gets Deleted

  • • All automation rules and message templates
  • • Connected Instagram account details
  • • Analytics and engagement metrics
  • • Automation logs and activity history
  • • Saved preferences and settings

⚠️ Data We Keep (Legal Requirements)

  • • Billing records (required by law for 7 years)
  • • Transaction history (tax compliance)
  • • Support tickets (dispute resolution)
  • • Anonymized analytics (no personal identifiers)

This data is kept in compliance with financial regulations and cannot identify you personally.

Deletion Timeline

Immediate (0-1 hour)

Your account is deactivated. Automations stop running. You can no longer log in.

2

48 Hours

Account data, automation rules, and analytics are permanently deleted from active databases.

3

30 Days

All backups containing your data are purged from backup servers.

Completion Confirmation

You will receive an email confirming that all your data has been permanently deleted.

What Happens to Your Instagram Data

When you delete your smdrDM account or revoke Instagram permissions:

  • We stop accessing your Instagram data immediately. No more comment monitoring or DM sending.
  • Your Instagram account remains unchanged. smdrDM only deletes data we stored; your Instagram posts, followers, and messages are unaffected.
  • Instagram may keep logs. Meta maintains its own logs of API usage (independent of smdrDM). Contact Instagram directly to request deletion of their records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I recover my data after deletion?

No. Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure to export any important information before requesting deletion.

Will I still be charged after deleting my account?

No. Your subscription is automatically canceled when you delete your account. You will not be charged again. If you delete mid-billing cycle, you will not receive a refund for unused time.

Can I re-sign up after deletion?

Yes. You can create a new account with the same email after deletion is complete. Your previous data will not be restored.

What if I only want to disconnect Instagram but keep my account?

Go to your dashboard and click "Disconnect Instagram" under Settings. This removes Instagram permissions without deleting your smdrDM account.
